Abstract
5G will be the next major wireless standard extending the success story of 4G/LTE. It will power 50bn+ connected devices, enable tactile internet experience and mission critical communication in autonomous vehicles. Key performance targets include peak data rates beyond 10Gbps and latency below 1ms. In my talk I will introduce the motivation for 5G, example use cases and the main design parameters. I will present key technology enablers, recent research results, the 5G ecosystem and its expected timeline.
