Abstract
Ptolemy II, previously used for modeling embedded systems, is now acting as a development environment. Taking advantage of existing features, sophisticated C and C++ applications can be rapidly developed and legacy code can be quickly incorporated and improved. Ruzena Bajcsy's tele-immersion system is acting as the driving application for this new way of using Ptolemy II. We have so far imported a crutial component of the tele-immersion system using expanded features of the existing Ptolemy II code generator.
