Abstract
The rapid expansion of Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) systems such as ride-sharing services and (electric) car rental programs triggered fierce competition between similar systems. We propose a combined queuing-theoretical and game-theoretical framework to quantify the Price of Anarchy (PoA) due to the selfish behavior of MaaS systems. Based on the analysis of 75 million NYC taxi trips, we plan to quantify the PoA of such competition in terms of traffic, vehicles miles traveled (VMT), vehicles hours traveled (VHT), and CO2 emissions in Manhattan.
