• Let t1 and t2 be two transition instances of a PN unfolding.

Then t1 and t2 are:

• sequential if
  there exists a directed path to which both belong
  
• concurrent if
  they are not ordered, and
  
  there exists an LC to which both belong
• conflicting otherwise
