Prof. Carl Sechen
Carl Sechen received the B.E.E. degree from Minnesota and the M.S. degree
from M.I.T. In 1986 he received the Ph.D. degree from UC Berkeley. From
July
1986 through June 1992 he was an Assistant and then an Associate Professor
at Yale University. From July 1992 through August 1999, he was an
Associate
Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of
Washington. He is now Professor of Electrical Engineering at the
University
of Washington. His main research interests are in the area of ultra high
speed digital circuit design techniques. He has ongoing interests in
efficient synthesis and layout techniques for random logic as well as
datapath blocks. He was the initial developer of the TimberWolf placement
and routing package. Together with William Swartz, he co-founded
InternetCAD, a placement and routing software vendor.
