Ibrahim Hajj


Ibrahim N. Hajj is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Research Professor at the Coordinated Science Laboratory, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, Illinois. He received his B.E. degree (with distinction) from the American University of Beirut, the M.S. degree from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of California at Berkeley, all in Electrical Engineering.

Before joining the University of Illinois, he was with the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. In 1987 he was a Visiting Professor at the Institute of Circuit theory and Telecommunications of the Technical University of Denmark. He is currently on sabbatical leave at the University of California at Berkeley.

His current research interests include computer-aided design of VLSI circuits, design for reliability and low-power, synthesis, physical design, and testing. He has published over 160 book chapters, journal, and conference papers on these subjects. In 1992 he was a co-recipient of the IEEE Transactions on Computer-Aided Desgn Best Paper Award.

He has served and is serving as an Associate Editor of a number of scientific journals. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and is currently a member of the Board of Governers of the Circuits and Systems Society of IEEE.
