Vojin Zivojnovic


Vojin Zivojnovic has received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from University of Belgrade, Yugoslavia in 1983 and 1986, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from Aachen University of Technology, Germany in 1997.

Since 1983 he was holding various positions in the academia and industry. From 1983 to 1986 he was researcher at the Institute for Nuclear Sciences, Vinca, Yugoslavia and from 1986 to 1990 teaching assistant at University of Belgrade, Yugoslavia. In 1991 he joined Aachen University of Technology, Germany as a senior researcher. During his engagement with Aachen University of Technology he was leading the DSPstone, SuperSim and LISA projects focusing on the system level design automation methodology and tools.

From 1996 to 1998 he was responsible for the research and development of in-house system level methodology and tools at Rockwell Semiconductor Systems, Newport Beach, CA.

Dr. Zivojnovic is the founder and president of AXYS Design Automation, Inc., Irvine, CA, a US/German company providing products and services in the field of processor modeling and design automation tools for embedded systems. He published numerous papers in the areas of statistical signal processing, digital communications and system-level design automation methodology and tools.

The seminar on March 3rd 1999 is his fourth seminar at the University of California at Berkeley.
