At GiE, we cultivate a fun, non-threatening environment that is designed to show how exciting engineering can be.
During camp, girls explore engineering, meet new friends and mentors, and develop their teamwork skills. GiE participants come from all over the Bay Area, with diverse interests and various experiences with engineering. While some girls already love engineering or science, for many this is their first time exploring engineering.

Girls will learn leadership skills such as goal setting and effective communication, and engage in activities that showcase different engineering disciplines. Participants will also design and create engineering projects throughout the week under the guidance of Berkeley faculty, staff, and students.
"I've never really been big on math but a lot of the stuff we did today ... they took math and they made it interesting, and they took science and they made it ... fun!"
