SUCCESS is a pilot study to understand,
- the best ways to engage underrepresented students in STEM and increase their science identity,
- the best ways to increase students hope and confidence in STEM,
- what are some best practices to provide motivation and scaffolding for underrepresented students who want to pursue a STEM major in college?
We believe that students learn from:
- guided discovery
- real-life, relevant curriculum modules
- working with mentors at various stages in their academic and career trajectories
- input, hearing, reading and interacting with various media in contexts such as: hands-on experiences, pictures, video, descriptions, and other subject-matter content,
- frequent and varied opportunities to design, interpret and demonstrate understanding of the material presented.
