- Getting a tcl/tk error message window in conjunction with Gnome Enlightenment WM or KDE WM will freeze the error message window for about 20 seconds. This will not occure with fvwm based WMs (as AnotherLevel) or twm. I suggest to use AnotherLevel for sane operation. - Uninstalling the package ptolemy-source-0.7.1p1-9.i386.rpm in conjunction with rpm 3.0, 3.0.1, and 3.0.2 will require at least 803164 kb (ca. 800 Mb) free virtual memory and will take about 1 hour and 20 minutes (46 minutes accumulated CPU time) on a PentiumPro 200. Additionally, rpm 3.x will output a lot of error messages of type "package xyz not found in file index". If you do not have enough free virtual memory then rpm will abort with a core dump and uninstallation of the package becomes impossible. This is a bug in the recent rpm 3.x versions. Using rpm 2.5.6 to uninstall the same package will only require 5700 kb (ca. 5.7 Mb) of memory and it will only take 1 minute and 11 seconds (7 seconds of accumulated CPU time) on a PentiumPro 200. I suggest to downgrade to rpm 2.5.5 or 2.5.6 (you must do "rpm --rebuild" after downgrading) for sane uninstallation. - The image viewer xv is not a part of the RedHat distribution any longer so I put the latest version available into this directory. Minor bugs fixed with package release 10: - fixed bug reported by Patrick Meyer (ACSSinFPCGC.pl computes a cosine instead of a sine) - fixed bin/xv (script won't exit if no viewer is installed) - changed all && command lists to || command lists in spec file to avoid non-zero exit status which could cause rpm-2.5.x to exit - fixed warning about non-existing owner/group "test"
