Notes for Presentations and Posters
Each standard presentation will be 20 minutes in length, including setup and questions. Each poster group will have the opportunity to give a 3 minute (including setup time) overview presentation.
A tentative program has been determined.
Presentations
If you are giving a 20 minute presentation, please note the following:To decrease set up time, it would help if all of the presentations were on our presentation laptops.
We would like to make all the presentations available in a printed hand out and on the Ptolemy website as 2up PDF files and as Powerpoint files. Let us know if this would be a problem.
If possible, please email your Powerpoint presentation to ptconf09 at ptolemy eecs berkeley edu by 6am Monday, April 13.
The printed handout will go to the printers on Tuesday April 14 If you do not make the Monday 6am deadline, then there is a good chance that the printed handout will not reflect your new materials.
Of course, you are welcome to use your own laptop, though there will be the usual minor delay in switching between laptops.
Posters
We would like to include printed copies of the posters in the
handout.
Please email your poster to
ptconf09 at ptolemy eecs berkeley edu
by 6am Monday, April 13.
We will provide one easel and one posterboard (30"x40", which will take nine 8.5" x 11" pieces of paper). If you must have a second board, please send mail to ptconf09 at ptolemy eecs berkeley edu and let us know by 6 am, Monday, April 13th.
You can either bring your own individual pieces of paper, or you may use the Powerpoint Poster Template.
If you are a member of CHESS, you may print your poster using the CHESS large format printer.
You are responsible for printing off your poster and attaching
it to the posterboard. We will have clips for your use.
If you deliver your poster to 301 Cory by 5pm on Wednesday, April 15, then the staff will transport your poster to the conference. If
you miss 5pm deadline, please bring your poster to the conference. We
will have posterboard and glue at the conference.
If you are preparing a poster, please note that there will be an opportunity to present a 3 minute (including setup time) overview of your poster. You need not prepare slides, though having two or three slides is encouraged.
We encourage you to give have a live demonstration at your poster. If you will be giving a demonstration, please let us know by noting this on the registration form or by emailing ptconf09 at ptolemy eecs berkeley edu so that we can provide power and a monitor.
If you prepare overview slides, we strongly encourage you to email them to ptconf09 at ptolemy eecs berkeley edu by 6am Monday, April 13 so that we can easily switch between overviews in a timely fashion.
We would like to make all the posters themselves available in a printed hand out and on the Ptolemy website as 2up PDF files and as Powerpoint files. Let us know if this would be a problem. We will not be making the overview slides available in the handout.
