Abstract
Efficient management of the available communication and computational resources have a significant impact on the performance of control and monitoring applications in the swarm. The management becomes challenging as the environment or the resources themselves are dynamically varying over time. We examine this issue in control applications implemented over wireless mediums, where the wireless channel quality is randomly varying over time. We develop policies for transmit power allocation, as well as scheduling over shared wireless channels, by opportunistically adapting to the wireless channel conditions. Future work includes the extension of these policies for allocation of cloud computational resources.
