Abstract
Our goal is to improve the performance of a human at a specific task by delivering information that is not readily available through our natural senses in an intuitive manner. We intend to alleviate the cognitive load of a particular task by introducing an AI program into the loop that performs data analysis techniques on a portion of the task that is cognitively demanding (e.g., arithmetic). The system extracts relevant information and curates it, enabling the human to create a more accurate model of the situation and to make more informed decisions with less cognitive effort. We aim to redistribute the extracted visual information from the user's environment among other sensory modalities in a way that, with appropriate training, can be integrated seamlessly with the natural senses. Our project is aimed to achieve natural sensory integration, in which users' process this new input stream at an autonomic level.
