Trust Logo

The Trust Electronics Medical Records Meeting was held on Friday, April 28th, 2006 at UC Berkeley.

David Brailer, the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, was the keynote speaker for this event organized by TRUST, CITRIS, the UC Berkeley School of Public Health and the California Regional Health Information Organization.

NEW: The Video of the event is now available.

The workshop covered the uses of new information and communication technologies for the better delivery of health care. Especially highlighted in this meeting were the use of new wireless devices, sensor webs and security/privacy considerations of dynamic electronic medical records. Security and privacy is an important pillar of the HSS Health Information Technology plan for the nation, and this workshop will highlight some of the NSF funded research in this area as well as health care providers and stakeholders' efforts in this area.

The Workshop was hosted by TRUST and we believe our work will have implications for RHIOs, personal health records, and other health information technologies. We also expect to have strong participation from the RHIO community, CalRHIO, the California Healthcare Foundation, Health Tech Center, Kaiser Permanente, Palo Alto Medical Foundation, as well as other major stake holders. We expect to have a review of some ongoing research, policy, legal and privacy considerations as well as some research roadmapping.

  • The Video of the event is now available and is hosted by CITRIS.
  • The Program for the event also contains presentation slides.
