ABSTRACT

In response to the Septemer 11, 2001 hijackings, Edward Lee porposed a new flight-control technology called Soft Walls. The Soft Walls strategy is to store a 3D database of "no-fly zones", or restirected airspace, on-board each aircraft and enforce these no-fly zones using an avionics control system. This master's report documents two of the Soft Walls control algorithms we have tried.
