Transportation Cybersecurity Research Recognized

January 20, 2015

UC Berkeley graduate Jack Reilly, now at Google, has received the Milton Pikarsky Memorial Award in Science and Technology from the Council of Universities Transportation Center (CUTC). The award recognizes work he completed at Berkeley while being advised by FORCES researcher Professor Alex Bayen. Graduate students from academic transportation centers across the U.S. were nominated for the award.

Reilly completed his Ph.D. through the Civil Systems program within the Civil and Environmental Engineering department. He cites the opportunity to test his research in real-world applications as one of the more compelling aspects of his time at Berkeley. Working with Professor Bayen, Reilly's research aligns closely with the stated goals of the FORCES program, influencing the development of transportation networks as stable cyber-physical systems.
