Installing modem drivers

Now install a few more drivers:
Install Thinkpad features
The Thinkpad Utility/Features disk has support for the internal audio and for battery management.

Make the floppy and then run a:\installn. I installed in c:\utility\Thinknt. Uncheck the "Install Personalization Editor" option, otherwise you will be asked for a "DOS/Personalization" disk, which I don't know where to get...

Open the Thinkpad Configuration program and make sure that the audio and internal modem are enabled. The COM Port by default is set to 2, which works fine.

Install the MWave drivers
MWave is the internal DSP inside bean, which does its modem stuff.

Make the two floppies, insert the first, and run a:\setup. I installed in c:\utility\mwave. After completion, open the Ports control panel and add COM Port 2 to the list. Use the following settings:
I/O Port Address 02F8
Interrupt Request Line 3
FIFO Enabled Yes
Now is probably a good time to restart if you haven't already.

Install the modem driver
Open the Modem control panel and let NT search for the modem. It will find "IBM Thinkpad 28.8 Data Fax." After installation, restart.
