EECS20N: Signals and Systems
Lab Administration
- The lab for this class is in 105 Cory.
If you are enrolled in the class, you will receive an account when
you go to the first lab.
- Lab access:
You will need a white card key to get into the lab at all times,
and into the building after hours. The lab is in 105 Cory, and Cory Hall is
locked 6:30PM-7AM on weekdays, and on weekends and holidays. If you use the
lab during off-hours, please
be aware of your surroundings and take responsibility for your safety. If
you do not already have a card key, go to 391 Cory or 387 Soda to get a new,
white cardkey, and follow posted instructions. New cardkeys cost $20 ($15
refundable). See
additional information about card keys.
- Lab rules:
-
There is a Campus-only phone in the lab for use in emergencies. Since there
will not be an instructor in the lab at all times, we stress that you need
to be aware of your surroundings and take responsibility for your personal
safety.
-
If you must bring food into the lab, it must at all times be kept
closed/wrapped in your backpack. Please leave the lab clean and orderly.
-
Report to the Lab instructor any malfunctioning equipment or software. If
the lab instructor is not present, please log the specific problem in the
dept log book. If you just walk away to another PC, then we will not become
aware of the problem and will not get it fixed. Instructors are responsible
for reporting problems to the technical staff (email
eecs20n@esg.eecs.berkeley.edu).
-
Lab resources are to be used for course-related purposes only, altough
modest usage for email and web browsing is permitted outside of scheduled
lab sessions. Just be considerate. Do not run computer games or screen locks
on the lab computers at any time, or your account will be disabled. Only
EECS 20n students are authorized to use the machines in 105 Cory, so you
have the right to evict other students if there are no available machines.
If availability of machines becomes a problem, please inform the course
instructor.
-
Any alterations (equipment/software) in the lab will be treated as
vandalism.
-
Please logoff from the PCs after each session. Unattended logins and
accounts may be disabled.
-
You must not share your account/password with others. If you are caught
doing this, you will lose your account, which will severely jeopardize your
standing in the class.
