In Section 3.1, we discuss the performance of various machines on the applications in our benchmark suite. Sparc10 with the clock speed of 50MHz is the base machine for computing performance ratios. We simulated the cache configurations of the machines to learn more about the effect of their memory organization on their performance. In Section 3.2, we discuss the cache simulation results. Cache parameters of various architectures are listed in Table 2.
